Elle’s 10 Questions for Jane Levy

As the leading lady on ABC’s hit show Suburgatory, Jane Levy plays the displaced Tessa Altman, a cynical teenager who decamped to a zany suburban neighborhood from New York (unwillingly) along with her father (who you may remember as rich brat Elton from 1995’sClueless). She also stars in the upcoming film Fun Size (which marks the directorial debut ofThe OC and Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz) alongside Johnny Knoxville and Chelsea Handler. We caught up with Ms. Levy and had her fill in our ELLE.com Top Ten.

ELLE: What is your favorite smell?
Jane Levy: Beer.

ELLE: What do you consider the epitome of happiness?
JL: Sitting on my mom’s couch.

ELLE: How do you define luxury?
JL: Space!

ELLE: What is the last dream you remember?
JL: I was having an anxious work dream (which I have often). It was sort of in the vein of that movie, In Time (which I actually didn’t see), where the end of the world was coming and everyone was running out of life and time. Fictional characters were able to steal the lives of real, breathing people. In my dream these hoodlum TV characters were luring me into their fake world and trying to steal my real life. And I was falling for it! I woke up terrified that I would have to live in the television box forever!
